Like I said the last time I went... Mito is neato! Just kind of a chill place. Everyone in Mito has a big dog. I guess since they actually have some massive parks going on you can get away with that here. And every single dog here was giving me some sort of sideways look. I went to try and pet a nice looking chocolate lab, and asked the owner, "Daijobu? (OK?)" She looked at me like I was crazy. I looked down at the dog and he was drooling, just waiting to take a piece out of my hand. But, yeah, there is a pig park. Thats kinda the theme of my 2 days here... Chillin in the park.
There are shrines and temples, just like everywhere, but this one was setting up for Mitama Matsuri. No idea what festival that is, but at night it was all lit up yellow with no one around. Pretty beautiful I think.
Mito has a little art scene thing going on too. Lots of commisioned graffiti pieces are scattered around town.
There is a modern art museum, and some sort of gallery / symphony hall / giant art tower thing. I guess you can go up in it, but I couldn't figure it out. It's easy to find, just look for the massive metal spire in the middle of town.
I call this work of art "Skeet skeet skeet".
Suwen, Allie, and I got crazy with the fireworks. Turned out to just be a bunch of sparklers. I thought I was getting some "lose a finger" type of bombs, but I should have realized that something with Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, and cute bunnies on the label might not be intended for the older crowd. Anyways, we made some fun shapes.
Suwen made a star. Good job Suwen!!!
I made a heart. Great job Me!!!
Allie made a pair of balls and a flacid cock. Awesome work Allie!!!
See ya Mito.
