Every year, on the 7th day of the 7th month, we celebrate Tanabata.
It's very colorful.
The tradition is to write your wishes on a piece of paper and hang it from some bamboo. As always, reading other people's wishes is a good time.
"Save the earth... peace out"
Her scribbles are her wish. To us, it's just lines on the paper, but in her mind it has meaning. Profound.
"Please no hangover tomorrow." The smartest, most well thought out wish I've seen.

There were maybe 50 people taking photos of these little girls. It's blurry, but the one on the right is holding a massive hamburger. From the burger guy above. I was gonna get one, but they covered it in mayo.
There's plenty to spend money on at festivals. This is a bag of helium that gives you a "Dokiri" voice.

How much calorie we are talking about?
This is one thing I could not understand with the modern Japanese culture.
However, Japanese in general dose not have any problems with bulging waistline.

I've seen a few burgers in the states with mayo on them. Do you remember the Ultimate Cheeseburger from Jack in the Box? I guess I'm not shocked by this when everyday I see mayo on pizza and fried chicken.
The Mega Mac has been a huge hit in Japan for about 2 years. The combo set, which has fries, drink, and chicken nuggets is over 1500 calories.
Isn't mayo on burgers pretty standard? Well at least in Canada it is.
By fake tattoo shops, did you mean the shops gave you fake tattoos... or they were shady ass tattoo shops that gave you real tattoos.
Since living in Japan have you had ink done there and is it more costly or harder to find an artist there?
Lot's of shops in Tokyo and other main cities tend to be about the same price as back in the States.
